Waterloo, Indiana — McCaulley&Company successfully planned and executed two events in April on behalf of its client, DeKalb County Central United School District, to educate Northeast Indiana school districts about the benefits of propane-powered school transportation and the grant opportunities available to support transitioning fleets. McCaulley&Company held two School Transportation Summits in Waterloo, Indiana and Ft. Wayne, Indiana in which school districts from Northeast Indiana gathered to learn about McCaulley&Company’s success in pursuing grants for DeKalb Central Schools and the recent transportation improvements those grants have funded. In October 2015, McCaulley&Company won a grant from the Indiana Office of Energy Development to replace DeKalb Central Schools’ buses from the environmentally harmful diesel engines to new propane-powered technology. Justin McCaulley, President of McCaulley&Company, said, “I am proud of the McCaulley&Company team and what we’ve been able to help the DeKalb Central Schools accomplish here. Winning a grant award is always exciting but it’s especially rewarding to have a government agency reach out and tell you they liked your proposal so much that they want to give your client more money than you requested." Tristan Vance, Director of the Office of Energy Development said, “We are proud to support the leadership of DeKalb Central Schools in converting their transportation fleet. Their efforts will help educate other Indiana schools about the benefits of propane school buses, including decreasing school children’s exposure to harmful emissions, lowering maintenance costs through the use of a cleaner burning fuel, and increasing fuel diversity.” “We have been so grateful for McCaulley&Company’s grant writing expertise and thorough compliance support. DeKalb Central Schools has a first-class team of professionals who are very focused on their full-time jobs serving the needs of the children in our school district. McCaulley&Company came up to speed quickly, delivered a grant win, and then made certain our district stayed far ahead of all the compliance deadlines associated with the grant award,” stated Dr. Sherry Grate, superintendent of DeKalb Central Schools. “McCaulley&Company has done a lot to raise awareness about propane as a better fuel source for school transportation fleets,” Mark Gibson, President of Propane AutoGas LLC, said. “We have worked closely with Justin to lobby Congress to extend the Alternative Fuel Excise Tax Credit so those savings can be passed on to my customers. I was impressed to see McCaulley&Company was able to get Hodge Patel, Senator Donnelley’s State Director, and Mike Shambo from the Indiana Office of Energy Development to come all the way from Indianapolis to hear about our concerns.” Comments are closed.
